Tejas Gallery announces its new show Simplicity, a collection of paintings and sculptures by artist Atish Mukherjee from 4th January to 4th February 2013.

ATISH MUKHERJEE
Atish’s passion for nature is the inspiration behind the show “Simplicity”…..a happy collection of paintings done in tempera, acrylic, pen&ink; and sculptures in terracotta and bronze.
The artist believes that unselfish love is the connection between his Creator and Nature, the ultimate artist. He perceives nature as an emotion and lets this flow through him as his driving force and inspiration.
Although his pieces are highly sophisticated in terms of technique, the colours, fluid lines and natural media are his tribute to folk-art. Atish believes that the art of the common man – the rural dweller – reflects the true innocence of nature.
A BVA from the Government College of Art & Craft, Atish has worked as illustrator, animator, designer for many years in Kolkata. His works have been exhibited widely and are a part of many a private collection, in India and abroad. He is now a full-time artist.
