About the band:
Los Amigos was formed in 2006 by Monojit Datta and Pradyumna Singh Manot and is India’s premier Latin Jazz group. The band consists of Monojit Datta (congas), Pradyumna Singh Manot (piano), Premjit Dutta (timbales), and Shovon Mukherjee (bass) – a combination of highly talented musicians. Their talent, creativity, and passion have defined them as one of India’s renowned jazz ensembles. They have performed at many prestigious locations in India including the Congo Square Jazz Festival, Kolkata, the Kala Ghoda festival, Mumbai, and have toured and performed at various venues throughout India. They recorded three albums, Collecion Privada (2007), In Dawn (2009) and Thank You For Being There (2010) featuring guest vocalist, Tanya Roychowdhury. They have made an impact on audiences with their music by introducing Latin Jazz all around India.
LOS AMIGOS made its international debut this year in March playing at the Java Jazz Festival joining a lineup headlined by Carlos Santana and George Benson.
